Angola s three railways Luanda, Benguela and Namibe are to be linked to the rail networks of neighbouring countries, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Namibia. The plans are part of a programme called, Development of the Integrated Railway System, approved by the government in 2001.

Thus, the Benguela railway (CFB) which in August is due to reach the city of Huambo, in the centre of the country, by November 2010 is expected to reach the border between Moxico province and the Republic of Zambia, then be linked to Zambian Railways.
