SOLDIERS are traditionally seen as brave, heroic individuals with a duty to protect life. But local lad, Marc Munro, went above and beyond the call of duty recently when he donated bone marrow for a transplant.
Over three years ago, the Arbroath soldier joined the Anthony Nolan Trust's bone marrow register when the charity set up a clinic at his barracks in Germany.
And last month the call came in that Marc (pictured right) was a potentially life-saving match for someone who was in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.
