Paul Blakeley proved the difference last Saturday as Birstall maintained their Central Yorkshire League Premier Division title challenge with an emphatic 134-run home win over Liversedge.
The evergreen all-rounder added a valuable unbeaten 37 to help Birstall set a challenging total before ripping through the visitors' order.
Connor Williams made 32 and Paul Marlow 37 but with Simon Purdy taking 3-56, Simon Kay 1-28 and Josh Tingle 2-44, Birstall were stuttering at 118-6.
Blakeley then came in and hit 37 not out as he and Matt Butler (15no) shared a stand of 49 to see the hosts reach 182-7.
