BIRSTALL aim to reach the Heavy Woollen Cup final for the first time in 53 years when they welcome Barnsley to Leeds Road on Sunday (start 1pm).
A cracking game is in prospect as Birstall have lost just once this season - their Jack Hampshire Trophy quarter-final to Methley - while Barnsley bid to reach the final for the third time in four years.
Birstall captain John Carruthers has played in four HW finals but says it would be special to lead his side out for the 125th final at Spen Victoria on August 3.
