CRIME has fallen in Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings by 22.8 per cent.
Figures for the police area, which includes Grantham, show the numbers of most categories of crimes went down in the year ending in April.
Only the number of assaults went up.
The total of criminal damage incidents fell from 2,564 to 2,044, while woundings dropped by nearly 29 per cent to 714. Domestic burglaries, including attempts, fell by 238 offences to 453 while thefts from vehicles went down by 27 per cent.
Common assaults, however, including attacks on police officers rose by nine per cent to 487 offences.
