Michigan Insurance Commissioner D. Joseph Olson is leading a march against mandatory continuing education for the state's life-health and property-casualty agents.

Citing the administrative cost and time needed to maintain the initiative, as well as the fact that no evidence has been presented proving the benefits of mandated education, Mr. Olson said he is prepared to make Michigan the sixth state to operate without the requirements.
