Leonard S. Coleman Jr., president of the National League of Professional Baseball Clubs, was recently named chairman of the Jackie Robinson Foundation in New York City. He replaces Mrs. Rachel Robinson who has retired as chairperson of the organization.
The announcement was made at the recent 18th annual Jackie Robinson Foundation Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
During the dinner, Kenneth I. Chenault, vice chairman of American Express Company, was presented with the foundations Robie Award for Achievement in Industry. Professional golf player Chi Chi Rodriguez received the Robie Award for Humanitarianism.
