WORCESTER - Eva M. Nazarevicz is a management consultant, and can't understand why Starbucks Corp. would close what she considers one of its best coffee shops.
The 25-year-old Los Angeles resident was surprised to learn of the company's plans to close the shop at 225 Shrewsbury St., in the Shrewsbury Street Marketplace, one of seven in the state slated for closure. Those shops are among 616 nationally that Starbucks identified as underperforming and will close beginning this month.
