ATLANTA | The Washington Nationals plan to recall third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, out since May 26 with a left shoulder injury, from a minor league rehab assignment. The former Kellam High and U.Va. standout will join the team Tuesday in San Francisco.
"It will give us a little more depth in our lineup," manager Manny Acta said. "We will have another threat in the lineup."
First baseman Dmitri Young was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after missing his second straight start, complaining of having high blood sugar and feeling lightheaded.
Young, a diabetic, said he felt dizzy and had difficulty focusing.
