TACOMA, Wash. -- IKEA, the world's leading home furnishings retailer, today announced its future Tacoma Distribution Center will be fully operational on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, following an official inauguration ceremony for invited guests and public officials at 10 a.m. PDT. Constructed on 65 acres at the Frederickson Industrial Area in unincorporated Pierce County, WA, this 834,000-square-foot distribution center represents the first phase of a project by the Swedish company that eventually can expand to more than 1 million square feet.
