IT IS NOW clear that either John McCain or Barack Obama will succeed George W Bush as President of the United States. What might the election of either man mean for the Middle East?
Naturally, both candidates have one eye on the voters when they make their statements, promises and pledges; and each has the benefit of operating in a hypothetical world where their policy ideas would neatly fit; but by now, clear lines of divergence between the two candidates' policies have begun to emerge, not least in regards to the tone of language that is used.
