With recent approval of two protease inhibitors -- and a third on the way -- AIDS clinicians and patients face a new era of treatment that brings both excitement and confusion. While researchers are touting protease inhibitors as the best news in AIDS treatment since AZT, they caution against unrealistic expectations and uninformed decisions.
