A LOST pelican found by staff at Haggerston Castle Holiday Park has been dubbed Romeo after falling in love with the woman who nursed him back to health.
The lovebird took a flight of fancy to Alexis Bailey who helped save his life after he was found at the park in October. Stunned staff found him with the ducks at the park and kept him until he could be handed over to the Scottish Society for the Protection of Animals (SSPCA).
Mrs Bailey was on duty at SSPCA's rehabilitation centre that night and gave him antibiotics for blood poisoning as well as treating some wounds and getting him settled.
