OPEN days are being held at the Anglo-Saxon settlement and royal residence of Ad Gefrin, in the Cheviot foothills near Wooler, on July 14-15.
The event has been organised by The Gefrin Trust and will offer visitors the opportunity to take a guided tour of the site.
There will be a walk to the top of the Iron Age hillfort on Yeavering Bell for a picnic lunch (bring a packed lunch) on Sunday, July 15 at 11am.
In the marquee there will be displays on the history of the site and demonstrations of the use of ground-sensing radar to show what lies beneath the surface.
