AUBURN - Facing elimination yesterday in the state tournament, the Auburn Senior League All-Stars played their best game of the postseason, beating Scituate, 15-0, to stay alive.
With the win, Auburn advances to the championship round to face undefeated Seekonk tomorrow.
Seekonk defeated Auburn on Saturday, meaning Auburn will have to win two in a row to claim a second consecutive state title.
"The whole team played a phenomenal game today," Auburn coach Frank Cooney said. "We lost to Seekonk, 5-2, and all five runs were unearned. We played sloppy. Today we played up to our potential and it was great to watch."
