Miharu's mother is dead and her father has run off, leaving her in debt to the Yazuka. To make matters worse, some weird guy keeps pestering Miharu about the ring her mother left her. Rintaru is a jeweler, and he claims that the stone set in the ring is The Wise Man's Stone. When Miharu swallows the stone (don't ask), she somehow absorbs its powers.
