They may have disappeared 65 million years ago, but when it comes to wowing generation after generation of children, dinosaurs seem never to go out of style. This summer, the Oregon Zoo offers its own big thrills with an exhibit called "Dinosaurs!" that runs through Labor Day.
The show features 25 "animatronic" creatures made of steel frames covered with realistically painted foam-rubber skin and powered with state-of-the-art electronics and air pistons that allow the creatures to "roar, snarl and move with realistic ferocity," zoo officials say.
