FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Apr. 8--Brunswick Corp. is selling its fresh-water fishing boat business, including boat brands made in northeast Indiana.
The company employs about 375 in Topeka making aluminum fishing boats. In March, the company told the 90 employees of its Nappanee boat plant that the plant will be closed in two to three months.
Tracker Marine, a Springfield, Mo.-based boat maker, has agreed to buy Brunswick's Spectrum and Fisher brands, which are made at both plants. The agreement also includes the purchase of a Brunswick plant in West Point, Miss., but not the Indiana plants.
