Formal evaluations find that most programs for young adults can increase their knowledge about reproductive health and foster positive attitudes towards healthy behavior (see Table 10). To go further and reduce unsafe behavior, programs need not only to provide accurate information but also to tell young people how they can protect themselves, help them identify and resist pressures to be sexually active, and help them rehearse negotiating to avoid sex or at least assure safer sexual behavior.
