As of Wednesday, there will be only 100 days to go until the 1996 Summer Olympics begin on July 19, and if it sometimes seems as if the sky is falling in Atlanta, it's not.
It's probably only big chunks of some new Olympic venue. Most recently, two 10,000-pound beams from the $21 million swimming arena at Georgia Tech crashed, a few moments after they were installed.
These beams fell almost exactly a year after a worker was killed during construction of the main Olympic Stadium, and following a mind-boggling winter of bad weather and terrible rain.
