Philip Morris boosts sales in Russia 8.3% in Q2

MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - Philip Morris increased sales in Russia 8.6% in the second quarter of 2008 compared to the same period of 2007, the company said in a report.

The company's share of the Russian tobacco market remained at 26.6% in the quarter. The increase in sales volume was the result of higher demand for the company's premium brands, such as Marlboro, Parliament and Virginia Slims in addition to Chesterfield in the average price segment.
