Red Cliff climbs to $29 mln at Chinese box office
Shanghai. July 23. INTERFAX-CHINA - Part one of John Woo's period epic "Red Cliff", the most expensive Chinese language film produced to date, earned over RMB 200 million ($29.3 million) in box office sales during its first 11 days, the film's domestic co-producer, China Film Group, announced July 21.
The film's box office earnings have already topped Dreamworks' "Kung Fu Panda", which saw ticket sales reach RMB 135 million ($19.8 million) in its third week of screening in China.
