RARELY IS AN Olympian's athletic epiphany traceable to age 2. But that's when Jan Kintner took off the training wheels from the bike of her daughter, Jill.
Ever since, she's been careening, soaring and dominating the world under her spokes.
"Don't let me," Jan said, laughing, "hang around your kids."
The path less traveled has always intrigued clan Kintner. Jill's late father, Peter, was a University of Washington athlete, on the ski team. Brother Paul was a bike racer. Mom, a longtime tennis player, water and snow skier coping with injuries at 63, has taken up a new passion - African drumming.
Forget the suburban ...
