AN appeal has been issued to local people holidaying abroad to take all necessary precautions on their return to ensure they do not bring harmful diseases back to Ulster.
Robin Swann, the North-Antrim-based Vice-Chairman of influential Rural Youth Europe group, has said the public has a moral imperative to help Northern Ireland's farming industry by keeping the province disease free.
Mr Swann said: "At this time of year, many people are travelling abroad on holidays. It is essential they follow Agriculture Department guidelines when returning - especially if they are coming from a region affected with bird flu - to make sure they do not bring harmful ...
