DUMAGUETE CITY, July 23 (PNA) -- A pool of marine scientists from the Silliman University Marine Laboratory (SUML) here issued a stern warning against engaging in black sand mining operation along coastal areas in the province which, according to them, is highly risky and destructive.
Provincial Legal Counsel Atty. Erwin Vergara, who heads the Provincial Mining and Regulatory Board (PMRB), invited for a discussion on the matter Dr. Hilconida Calumpong, Dr. Janet Estacion and Chemical Engineer Edna Sabater of the SUML.
