Online music subscription service Rhapsody has opened an MP3 store that promises users over five million DRM-free songs from all four major record labels--Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, Warner Music and EMI--and independent labels as well.
The MP3 store is part of Rhapsody's new "Music Without Limits" strategy to turbocharge the digital music business.
Plays on Any MP3 Player
Rhapsody's promise is that any song or album purchased at its MP3 store can be played on any MP3 player including an Apple iPod (not supported by Rhapsody's existing subscription service).
