COBURG - Buffeted by brutal market conditions and with no turnaround in sight, Monaco Coach Corp. announced Thursday that it was shutting three of its plants in Indiana and eliminating one-third of its total workforce.
A total of 1,400 hourly and salaried jobs will be eliminated, all in Indiana, and about 100 Indiana jobs will be moved to the company's Coburg operations sometime in the fourth quarter, company spokesman Craig Wanichek said.
"There's definitely going to be an increase here" in employment, Wanichek said.
