GROWING numbers of older workers claim they are being discriminated against by their employers.
Almost a quarter of the 360 work-related discrimination complaints made to the Equality Authority last year were on the basis of age.
According to the authority's 2007 annual report, complaints from older employees outnumbered those from migrant workers, women, the disabled and all other categories under the Employment Equality Act.
The bulk of complaints concerned fixed retirement ages, according to Equality Authority CEO Niall Crowley.
