FEARS for the future of Batley's town hall, library and art gallery were laid to rest once and for all at a public meeting on Thursday.
Coun Andrew Palfreeman (Con, Birstall and Birkenshaw), cabinet member for corporate services, opened the meeting by saying Batley Town Hall's cash office would definitely not be moving to the library.
He said: "The library is secure where it is and once the repairs have been completed it will re-open and stay where it is.
"Secondly, plans to remove the cash office out of Batley Town Hall will no longer take place.
