Brigstock post office could re-open in the near future if new owners are found to take over the business.
The post office has been shut since January 17 when postmistress Angela Winsor was suspended following an audit, although the newsagents has remained open.
However, it is now understood that Mrs Winsor and her husband Mike are considering selling the business, leaving the path clear for someone to re-open the post office.
Brigstock villagers have been forced to travel as far as Corby and Kettering to use post office services after other nearby branches were forced to close by the Government as part of a nationwide cull.
