The Washington Convention Center Authority yesterday named D.C. Convention Center Associates as the program managers for construction of a new million-square-foot downtown center.
The project, now estimated to cost $400 million to $500 million, is to be built with revenue bonds financed through dedicated portions of the District of Columbia's hotel sales tax, hotel occupancy tax, restaurant sales and use tax, the business franchise tax, trailer leasing and rental taxes, and corporate and unincorporated business taxes.
District documents late last year estimated the project cost at $300 million to $350 million.
