BEVERLEY'S historic fair will continue a long-standing tradition when it returns to the town later this month.
Fairs have been held in Beverley for nearly 800 years and this early photograph of fairground rides in Saturday Market dates back to 1905.
The photograph belongs to fairground operator Anthony Shaw, who will be running the four-day fair in the market place from Sunday to Wednesday August 27 to 30.
Mr Shaw says the picture is a unique example of Beverley's fairground tradition and of the families which have run fairs in the town for generations.
