PETERSHAM - Dodging raindrops and lightning bolts all week, a group of soaked but good-humored Americorps workers let little keep them from cutting a trail through the Rutland Brook Wildlife Sanctuary.
They sought shelter whenever lightning was added to the stormy mix, but otherwise, even in downpours, they kept cutting branches, small trees and other impediments to hiking.
Heavy rain fell yesterday morning and as much as seven inches was predicted for the day, but the five workers, four recent college graduates and one still in college, started at 7 a.m. and were planning to continue their cutting through the afternoon ...
