SPECULATION that Labour defeat in Glasgow East would bring down this Prime Minister has, of course, become hysterical since the SNP, against almost all prediction, managed to pull off an astonishing upset.
Such British drama is not going to happen. Gordon Brown is not by temperament a quitter and Labour has never shared the Tory facility for expedient regicide.
There is no obvious, outstanding alternative and the names generally punted about - Johnston, Miliband, Purnell - scarcely register with the general public.
Besides, Labour could not foist a second unelected Prime Minister upon us, mid-term, without ...
