THE family of an elderly woman who committed suicide with sleeping pills prescribed by her GP has welcomed the fact that he was not struck off.
The son of the 87-year-old osteoporosis sufferer said Iain Kerr had been a 'tremendous support' during a difficult period.
Last week, Dr Kerr was suspended for six months by the General Medical Council for prescribing the drugs for the pensioner, named only as 'Patient A', who used them to take her own life.
Yesterday the woman's 56-year-old son, a Glasgow businessman who asked to remain anonymous, said: 'I am happy he wasn't struck off. Dr Kerr has been reprimanded for ...
