Orphans from Colombia and prospective adoptive families got a chance to meet Saturday at a pool party in Calabasas hosted by an organization dedicated to finding loving homes for older orphans.
The gathering was organized by Kidsave's Summer Miracles program, which brings orphans ages 5 to 16 from abroad to the United States for five-week stays with host families.
"The objective is to introduce them to as many people in the community as possible and get the word out that these children need families, so that by the time they go back, there will be one or more families interested in adopting kids," said Randi Thompson, ...
