DANBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1996--Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) and Corning Incorporated have signed joint contracts totaling more than U.S.$35 million with U.S., Brazilian and Portuguese glassmakers for the supply of oxygen plants and oxygen-based glass melting technology.
The three contracts -- with Thomson Consumer Electronics, Inc., Nadir Figueiredo Industria e Comercio S.A., and Tosel -- represent oxygen supply of 446 tons per day (398 metric tons).
Under a long-term contract with Thomson Consumer Electronics, Praxair will build a cryogenic air separation plant at the company's Circleville, Ohio, facility to supply 375 tons per day (335 metric ...
