Since 1927, the English speaking world has relied on Frederick Etchells' translation of Le Corbusier's groundbreaking Vers une Architecture. This new edition sets out to correct the many liberties taken with the original text; the addition of 'new' and translation of 'le volume' as 'mass', notable examples. Perhaps, more importantly, Goodman suggests that the sophisticated and allusive style, with its link to modern literature, more akin to prose poem than simple polemic, was lost. ...
