HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, Jul 30, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Through August 11, 2008, Shelburne and Halifax, Nova Scotia welcome a special series of events marking the 225th anniversary of the Black Loyalists' arrival in Nova Scotia. In 1783, Black Loyalists sought safety and security on the shores of Shelburne harbour, and over the coming weeks, an array of events will celebrate their enduring legacy.
During Natal Day weekend, on August 1st, a Black Loyalist tribute concert will be held on the Halifax harbourfront, followed by the 4th Annual Freedom Festival Gospel Concert at the same location on Sunday, August 3rd. Also among the Nova Scotia events surrounding the 225th ...
