Anheuser-Busch's Houston Brewery to Utilize Biogas from Allied Waste Landfill
HOUSTON, July 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Allied Waste Industries, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Ameresco McCarty Energy to sell biogas from Allied Waste's McCarty Road Landfill, for use at Anheuser-Busch's Houston brewery. The biogas is naturally produced through waste decomposition at the landfill. Currently, a portion of the biogas from the McCarty Road Landfill is captured, processed and sold to a local utility, while the excess is flared (burned without energy recovery).
