AFTRA is planning another run at a merger with SAG, following a brutal battle over AFTRA's ratification of its primetime deal.
As the town sifts through the meaning of AFTRA's acceptance of the terms of a new deal, AFTRA president Roberta Reardon is already laying fresh groundwork to combine the two performers unions.
Though details haven't been hammered out, Reardon plans to organize a summit meeting in coming weeks. She'll contend that combining the two unions makes sense because of the need for labor peace and the goal of "achieving unity" among the 150,000 members repped by SAG and AFTRA.
