ARMAGH and Galway are to unite in an effort to prevent the GAA from denying them the opportunity to play their All-Ireland football quarter-finals in Croke Park.
Venues have yet to be announced for the quarter-finals on the weekend after next but all the indications are that Dublin will feature in a stand-alone game in Croke Park on the Saturday, with Cork in action on the Sunday programme.
Cork footballers' case for Croke Park is strengthened by the hurlers' involvement in the All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny on the Sunday. That's already fixed for Croke Park so Cork, quite understandably, want their footballers on the same bill.
