ACTION will be taken against 108 coffee shops across Bahrain for alleged breaches of a ban on sheesha, it emerged yesterday.
The Health Ministry submitted a list to Bahrain's five municipalities yesterday for action to be taken against the violating coffee shops, including the immediate closure of five outlets authorised only to operate as restaurants.
The violations of the other 103 coffee shops range from unlicensed building additions, improper ventilation or safety standards as well as not following hygiene and health requirements to serve sheesha.
