Two dueling campaign ads that track Democrat Mark Udall's record on taxes signal yet again that oil and gas dominates the race and that millions will be spent to define the U.S. Senate candidates.
The first ad, aired last week by Coloradans for Economic Growth, accuses Udall of voting for higher taxes and helping drive up gas prices during his five terms in Congress.
One of the three Republicans who founded the group has ties to Alex Cranberg, the Denver oil and gas executive who used to employ Udall's opponent, Republican Bob Schaffer.
