COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- My, oh my.
Dave Niehaus didn't employ his famous catchphrase in his speech during Sunday's Hall of Fame inductions, but he didn't have to - it was written all over his face.
"I just wish everyone could experience the feeling that I am having now," Niehaus said to open his 9 1/2-minute speech. "There will never be anything like it again in my lifetime."
Accepting the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence, the Mariners broadcaster reached the pinnacle of his profession. His picture and description will be permanently displayed in the "Scribes and Mikemen" area of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
