WORD HAS IT that some in the cocktail elite are claiming vodka's star is strting to sputter. With classic cocktails reemerging, gin is poised to ascend, they say, while consumers' flavor quest is bringing tequila, rums and whiskey to the fore, stiffing vodka's appeal in the process.
