While making myself a grilled cheese sandwich the other day, I began musing about the origins of such a simple yet satisfying sandwich. Whose brilliant idea was it to take the Earl of Sandwich's creation and run with it? I'm not sure, but I do know melted cheese on any sandwich adds a lovely, gooey component, so I'm going to leave it at that.
