Bury St Edmunds 1st XI 4, Colchester 1st XI 5: A poor start from Bury allowed the visitors to dominate the opening exchanges and take the lead following a fine reverse-stick strike.
Bury struggled throughout the first half to find any rhythm as Colchester pressed to increase their advantage.
Once they had won the ball back, ex-Chelmsford star, Gareth Carr, provided excellent distribution throughout.
Colchester extended their lead on 30 minutes following a botched short corner routine. The ball fell kindly to a Colchester attacker, who flicked home from five yards.
