The day after the trading deadline, Erik Bedard was still a Mariner, though evidence of his presence has been tough to find lately.
The left-hander is a ghost in the Mariners clubhouse, hanging out in the training and weight rooms and other back areas. On the disabled list with a sore shoulder, Bedard hasn't pitched since July 5 and has yet to begin a throwing program.
"To this point, it's been almost a month and all he's done is play some soft catch in the cage," manager Jim Riggleman said. "So for all intents and purposes (he) has been shut down."
