Eighteen has been good to Danez Smith.
It's the age that he's come into his own, he says.
And the age he was named Madison's Grand Slam Poetry Champion.
It gets even better: Later this week, Smith (still 18), will perform his poetry in the national spotlight - right on a Madison stage.
